 Terni 2019. Neither an apocalyptic deadline nor an heroic bet.
Rather a provocation that uses irony as a catapult for the future, rather a tickling that awakens the senses. And while the smile leaves the face, it gives way to the contemplation for a new conscience and a new confidence.
In 2019 an italian city will be again elected European Capital of Culture, and, for Terni, even just the candidature would be, at the same time, a goal - as a legitimation of all the processes put in motion - and a challenge to renew the tension and promote a new state of learning, optimizing the resources available so as to let a solid identitary conscience mature.
Big events, as in the case of the European cities of Culture, can, in fact, become opportunities for transformation and urban regeneration, without being limited to functioning as poles of attraction for the media and for external forces, but being founded on the recovery of the territorial sense and specificity, of all the intangible infrastructural apparatus of cogntive, relational, symbolic-identitary nature, that constitutes, in a profound sense, the culture of a place.
